New and Improved LDS Ability
There haven't been any updates to the site for quite awhile, but we have been working on a few projects behind the scenes...
First of all, there is now a user registration that you can sign up for.
Q: Why would you want to sign up?
A: So that you can go to the new message board to introduce yourself and meet lots of other great visitors.
Registering is of course optional and right now all that is allows you do to is leave comments and post to the message board- all of the content is available to everyone regardless of whether you are registered or not.
There is also a new Education section with some new resources and a profile of Elder Reed Hahne who serves as a part-time service missionary. The listings for the Special Needs Mutual and Special Needs Primary programs has also been updated.
Lastly, you'll notice a new search box in the upper right hand corner of every page that should help you to find what you are looking for a little easier. Take a look around and please let us know if you have any problems!
This is not an official site of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Representation of Disability in Church Discourse/Publications
I have become a bit weary of the way PWD are mentioned in talks, magazines, and general discussion in the LDS Church. For example, I would like to see an article in the _Ensign_ which does not depict them as objects of charity/hardship, helpless victims, exaggerated heroes, etc. I encourage anyone here to submit articles or stories to Church publications which feature a person with a disability as any Latter-day Saint--struggling or valiant--and for some reason other than their disability as the primary focus.
Correction to the West Valley Special Needs Mutual
Christopher,
You have the boundaries listed as Granger,
HUNGER, and Magna. (I know that when Mormons meet, they Eat, but please correct it to Hunter.) Technically the area is all of West Valley City (the old Granger-Hunter Area) and Magna.
Hi everyone; This is a recent photo of my daughter Kristin Lynch (Special Needs) and myself, Dorene Lynch. Kristin is a very active member of the Granger-Hunter Special Needs Mutual. I am currently serving as their Inservice and Personal Progress leade
Thank you- correction made!
Thank you very much Dorene! The fix has been made:
