Each month we'll try and post a list of all of the articles from the Friend, New Era and Ensign that touch on disability. Here is the list for January:

The Friend

  • Being Brave by Charmayne Gubler Warnock
    Based on a true story about a girl named Rosella who stood up for Alan who "didn't get enough oxygen" when he was born and "had a hard time learning".

The New Era

  • What Does it Mean to be Perfect? by Cecil O. Samuelson of the Seventy
    Elder Samuelson discusses "the issue that mental health professionals describe as 'perfectionism.'" Includes a chart at the end of the article on the difference between 'Doing Your Best' and 'Perfectionism.'
  • At Home in Mozambique by Benjamin Thomas Garrison
    True story about Maria da Conceição and the members and missionaries who help her build a home. Maria has a physical disability.
